Lynch Station…….Doris Doss Giles, age 86 of Lynch Station died Monday, September 9, 2024 at Heritage Green Assisted Living in Lynchburg.

Born February 27, 1938 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Thomas Doss and Elizabeth Toy Owen Doss.  She was predeceased by her husband, Anderson Edward Giles; and one sister, Lois Tucker.  Mrs. Giles was a member of Weatherford Primitive Baptist Church and she retired from Abbott Laboratories.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing, canning and all animals.

She is survived by two sons, Roger Giles and wife, Sheila of Gretna and Don Giles and wife, Kaye of Forest; two sisters, Christine Saunders and husband, Carrol of Gretna and Faye Tanksley of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Jessica G. Raynor and Pamela G. Knowles; and three great-grandchildren, Andy Raynor, Dean Knowles and Graham Knowles.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Bobby Brumfield.  Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
