Bedford…..Doris Keesee Duncan of Bedford died Monday, October 14, 2013 at Oakwood Health and Rehab Center in Bedford.
Born in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Samuel Keesee and Lottie Love Keesee. Mrs. Duncan was predeceased by her husband, Stacy Duncan; four brothers, Curtis Keesee, Joel Keesee, Gilmer Keesee, and Morris Keesee; and five sisters, Hallie Hardaway, Nora Bayliss, Beulah Barbour, Lucy Carwile, and Ida Kilmon. She was a member of Quaker Baptist Church in Bedford and was a nurse. Mrs. Duncan liked people, animals, and enjoyed visiting people and carrying food to sick shut ins.
She is survived by one son, Jerome (Jerry) Hardy and his wife, Mary Layman Hardy of Bedford; and one sister, Rachel Gammon of Danville.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the Keesee Family Cemetery by Rev. R.G. Rowland.
