Bedford……….Lucy Dorine Keen Strawn age, 91 of Bedford died Thursday, May 5, 2016 at her residence.
Born July 7, 1924 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Charlie Lee Keen and Lucy Green Shelton Keen. She was twice married first to the late, William Morton Anderson and then to the late, Lester Strawn. Mrs. Strawn was predeceased by a son, Leslie Ray Anderson; two brothers, Otis Keen and Randolph Keen; three sisters, Lois Gay Keen, Sarah Barker and Dottie Elliott. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Bedford Branch. Dorine enjoyed crocheting, sewing, working with flowers, helping people and dancing.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Shelton and husband, Andy of Bedford; one step-daughter, Debbie Laughon and husband, Tom of Bedford; three brothers, Harold Keen and wife, Dora of Gretna, William Keen and wife, Inez of Hurt and Sam Keen and wife, Mary of Danville; one sister, Kathy Jennings and husband, Bob of Nathalie; two step-grandchildren, Denise Sims and husband, Jason of Bedford and Megan Shelton of Thaxton; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Gretna Branch by President Raymond Elliott. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
