Hurt…..Donny Glen Farris, age 54 of Hurt died Saturday, May 25, 2013 in Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born March 5, 1959 in Lynchburg, he was a son of Carrie Mae Irby Farris of Hurt and the late Samuel David Farris, Sr. He was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth Wayne Farris, Sr. and Calvin Farris. Donny was a carpenter. He enjoyed wood carving, reading, listening to music, animals and being outdoors.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by four brothers, Ryland Farris of Hurt, Sam Farris, Jr. and wife, Frances of Hurt, Ted Farris and wife, Judy of Draper, Utah and Roy Farris of Smyrna, TN; seven sisters, Betty Dodds and husband, Lloyd of Upland, CA, Carolyn Hall and husband, John of Hurt, Lucy Smith and husband, James of Glendora, CA, Mary Pugh and husband, Grady of Gretna, Lois Wheeler and husband, Wayne of Hurt, Peggy Harward and husband, Calvin of Mapleton, Utah, and Judy Ball of Brigham City, Utah.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Farris Family Cemetery by President Raymond Elliott, Mary Pugh, Grady Pugh, John Hall, and Wayne Wheeler.
The family will receive friends at the residence of his niece, Jenny Thomas, 5157, Telegraph Road, Gretna.
