Gretna……….Donald Dean Ward, Jr., age 41 of Gretna, died Thursday, November 9, 2023 at his residence.

Born December 10, 1981 in Roanoke, he was a son of the late Donald Dean Ward, Sr., and Wanda Lambert Ward.  Mr. Ward was an electrician, and a member of Altavista EMS for many years.  He enjoyed traveling, listening to music, and watching Virginia Tech Football.

He is survived by his wife, Jodi Renee Stuart Ward of the residence; four sons, Jacob Ward (Danielle Staton) of Gretna, Caleb Ward of Gretna, Xavier Miller of Floyd, and Landon Stuart of Gretna; two daughters, Alanna Stuart of Gretna, and Aubree Stuart of Gretna; two sisters, Bridget Moon and husband, Patrick of Grit, and Marcia Bradner of Gretna; one granddaughter, Natalie Hope Ward; and numerous nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Matt Gaston.  Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
