Gretna…….Donald Earl Simpson, age 78 of Gretna died Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born October 7, 1945 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Otha Giles Simpson and Lucille Hancock Simpson.  He was predeceased by three sisters, Colleen Dalton, Nell Saunders, and Mary Bryant.  Mr. Simpson retired from Schrader-Bridgeport.  He was a gifted musician with the piano and guitar.

He is survived by one brother, Kenneth Simpson and wife, Janet of Hurt; one sister, Janie Brown and husband, Don of Gretna; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Jason Andrews.  Burial will follow in Greenfield Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
