Bedford County……Donald Wilbur Estes, age 85 of Bedford County, died Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital.

Born November 9, 1935 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Earl Iverson Estes and Alice Bedell Estes.  He was predeceased by one daughter, Patricia Carol Grimes.  Mr. Estes was a nuclear inspector with the United States Government.  He attended Summersett Baptist Church; and he enjoyed making knives, fishing, and playing golf.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Anne Boone Estes of the residence; two daughters, Cynthia Ann Floyd of Buxton, NC, and Cathy Lynn Moring and husband, Jerry of Chesapeake; two brothers, Robert Edgar Estes and wife, Cindy of Florida, and David Estes and wife, Erleen of Florida; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2021 at Meadowbrook Memorial and Cremation Gardens in Suffolk by Rev. Jason Andrews.

The family will receive friends from 12:15 to 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2021 at Meadowbrook Memorial and Cremation Gardens.
