Lynch Station…..Dominick Frank Zappia, age 85 of Lynch Station died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Autumn Care Nursing & Rehab Center in Altavista
Born January 20, 1926 in Yonkers, New York he was a son of the late Luigi Zappia and Angelina Femia Zappia. He was predeceased by a son Francis Dominick Zappia, a daughter, Margaret Cassidy. A brother, Anthony Zappia and a sister, Mary Zazza. He was faithful in his ministry and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Altavista Congregation. Mr. Zappia was a US Navy veteran of World War II and was a retired carpenter. He was a gifted gardener and was very successful at growing all types of plants.
He is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Margaret Barron Zappia of the residence; one son, Don Louis Zappia of Yonkers, New York; one brother, Nicholas Zappia of Somers, New York; a sister, Nettie Trapasso of Somers, New York; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2011 at The Altavista Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses by Brother Russell Toler.
