Sandy Level…….Diane Marie Simpson Doss, age 76 of Sandy Level died Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born May 2, 1947 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Edwin Simpson and Viola Shelton Simpson. She was predeceased by one granddaughter, Faythe Grant. Mrs. Doss was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church and worked at Capps Shoe Company. She was an angel on earth who loved going to church and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jimmie "Duck" Doss of the residence; two daughters, Donna Doss of Sandy Level and Katie Grant and significant other, Waddell Wilson of Altavista; two sisters, Fern Farley of Virginia Beach and Linda Thomas of Gretna; four grandchildren, Leigha, Aiden and Isaac Moon and Kaleb Grant; and one great-grandchild, Kaisyn Moon.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2023 at Sandy Level Baptist Church by Pastor Kendell Smith. Burial will follow at Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2023 at Sandy Level Baptist Church and other times will be at the residence.
