Gretna….......Dennis Lynn Bowler, age 64 of Gretna died Friday, August 4, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born April 10, 1953 in Danville, he was a son of the late James Ellis Bowler and Barbara Anne Mayhew Bowler. Dennis was predeceased by his wife of over 40 years Deborah Walker Bowler, his paternal grandparents, Willie and Nanny Bowler and his maternal grandparents, Calvin and Myrtle Mayhew. He was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church. Dennis was a twenty year employee of Bowler Lumber Company and a former employee of Burns Security. He enjoyed drag racing, classic cars and car shows.
He is survived by one aunt, Marge Mayhew Younger; two uncles, Reed Mayhew and Stover "Poky" Mayhew; two brothers-in-law, David Walker and wife, Dell and Dennis Walker and wife, Jo Ann; nephew and nieces, John Walker III, Margaret Harris and Laura Garton; and cousins on both sides of his family.
Graveside services will be conducted 5:30 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Greenfield Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. R.G. Rowland.
