Hurt….…..Dennie Ann Roach Blanks, age 88 of Hurt died Sunday, January 14, 2018 at her residence.
Born May 22, 1929 in Bedford County she was a daughter of the late George Roach and Mattie Richardson Roach. She was also predeceased by her husband, Walter Anthony Blanks; five sons, a set of infant twins, another set of twins, Perry Miller and Terry Miller, Randy Miller and Troy Miller; five brothers, Jeff Roach, Dave Roach, Cabell Roach, Charlie Roach and June Roach; and four sisters, Irene Stanley, Laura Arthur, Berta Roach and Betty Emerson. Mrs. Blanks was a former employee at the Lane Company; she enjoyed flowers, yardwork, canning and going to yard sales.
She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Leach and husband, Daniel of Hurt and Shirley Anderson of Hurt; one son, Ray Miller of Gretna; one step-son, Randall Blanks of Altavista; and six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Bobby Brumfield. Burial will follow in the Blanks Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
