Gretna…….Debra Wilson Towler, age 71 of Gretna went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at her residence.

Born December 30, 1953 in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late Albert Lewis Wilson and Alice Almond Mayhew.  She was predeceased by her stepfather, Forest Bennett Mayhew; a brother, D.C. Floyd; and a sister, Patricia "Sissy" Wilson.  Mrs. Towler attended New Bethel Church of the Brethren and she retired from Sara Lee.  She enjoyed canoeing, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Nelson Lee Towler of the residence; one daughter,  Lara Bruce and husband, Chris of Chesapeake; two sisters, Linda Dobyns and husband, Terry of Forest and Connie Pickral of Gretna; one brother, Albert "Tinker" Wilson of Lynchburg; one half-brother, Richard Floyd of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Christian Bruce and Jessie MacDonald, Cameron Dykema and husband, Corey and Cohen Bruce; one great-grandchild, Luke Scott Bruce; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor David Shumate and Rev. R.G. Rowland. Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
