Gretna...........Debra Dawson Moser, age 66 of Gretna died Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Guggenheimer Health and Rehab Center in Lynchburg.

Born August 29, 1957 in Danville, she was a daughter of the late Alice Rebecca Matherly Dawson.  She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Douglas Moser.  Mrs. Moser received two Master's Degrees from Averett University.  She loved animals, rock music, writing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved her dogs, even though "Pancho" was the devil dog, she loved him and "Baby" unconditionally.

She is survived by four daughters, Christy Solomon of Thomasville, NC, Candice Bandy of Hurt, Amber Moser of Gretna, and Jennifer Smith and husband, Ray of Pittsville; six grandchildren, Brandon, Christopher, Brittney, Dustin, Kenley, and Ace; and one great-granddaughter, Autumn.

Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. R.G. Rowland.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Pittsylvania County Pet Center or the American Cancer Society.
