Gretna……Dean Franklin Wade, age 78 of Gretna died Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born January 22, 1944 in Halifax County, he was a son of the late John Clarence Wade and Maggie Hailey Wade.  He was predeceased by one sister, Virginia "Teedy" Wright; two brothers, Emerson Wade and Larry Wade; special nephews; and his fur baby, Tina Faye Wade.  Mr. Wade was a former employee of Southern Air and a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.  He enjoyed spending time with his family; and feeding birds and wild life.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Dalton Wade of the residence; one son, Dean F. Wade, Jr. of Gretna; one daughter, Bonnie Lee Wade Lemin and husband, Scott of Altavista; four grandchildren, Austin Hall BSN of Altavista, Scott Lemin, Jr. of Altavista, Kaylee Lemin of Altavista, and Grace Weber of Roanoke; one brother; a niece, Rhonda Krantz of Rustburg; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends, Danny and Diane Fifer.

A private memorial service will be held.
