Gretna.…..Donald Dean Ward, Sr. age 65 of Gretna died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Virginia Baptist Hospital.
Born July 6, 1949 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of Addison (Scrap) B. Ward and Gladys Brumfield Ward of Hurt. Mr. Ward was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a veteran of the Virginia National Guard and was the owner-operator of PC Designs, Inc. He was a college graduate; and enjoyed swimming, softball, bowling, and riding thrill rides at amusement parks.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Wanda Lambert Ward of the residence; one son, Donald (Donny) Dean Ward, Jr. of Gretna; two daughters, Bridget Moon and her husband, Patrick of Hurt and Marcia Bradner of Gretna; two brothers, Kyle Ward and his wife, Judy and Roger Ward and his wife, Donna; two sisters, Susie Newman and her husband, Howard and Glenda Queener and her husband, Rob; and seven grandchildren, P.J. Moon, Christopher (Clint) Hines, Zachary Moon, Alayna Bradner, Jacob Ward, Marissa Moon and Caleb Ward.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church by Pastor Jeremy Breaux and Rev. Joseph Giles, Jr. Burial with Military Honors by the Virginia National Guard Honor Guard will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his father and mother, Addison and Gladys Ward, 5788 Blue Ridge Drive, Hurt.
