Dean Overstreet
Evington……….Bradley Dean Overstreet, age 74 of Evington died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at his residence.
Born July 8, 1939 in Campbell County, he was a son of the late Daniel Stevens Overstreet and Janie Witt Overstreet. He was predeceased by a son, John (J.D.) Overstreet; three brothers, Freddie Overstreet, Kallie Overstreet, and Jack Overstreet; and four sisters, Alice Sickles, Lizze Keatts, Mattie Ashlock and Arlene Logwood; the mother of his children, Judith Overstreet Shields. He was a retired supervisor with the Lane Company. Dean enjoyed coon hunting and was a great story teller.
He is survived by two daughters, Tina O. Brumfield and husband, Randy of Gretna, and Sharon O. Dalton of Evington; two brothers, James (Michael) Overstreet of Forest and Daniel Overstreet, Jr. of Bedford; four sisters, Gloria Hall of Lynchburg, Martha Phillips of Lynchburg, Phyllis George of Hurt and Mary Powers of Evington one grandson, Jason Brumfield of Danville; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 13, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Lynn Marstin and Pastor James Smith. Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M. Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Randy Brumfield, 721 Blue Ridge Drive, Gretna.
