Gretna…...David Vaden "Dave" Adams, III, age 77 of Gretna died Friday, December 10, 2021 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born August 25, 1944 in Danville, he was a son of the late David Vaden Adams, Jr. and Minnie Berger Adams. He was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Anna Lee Perkins. Mr. Adams was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Gretna Congregation and was the owner/operator of Adams Machine Shop, Inc. Dave loved playing games and building Legos with his children and grandchildren and greatly enjoyed steam engine locomotives, especially the Norfolk and Western 611 and 1218.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Perkins Adams of Gretna; two sons, David V. Adams IV and wife, Allison of Gretna and Charles Perkins Adams and wife, B.J. of Gretna; three brothers, Lynn Adams and wife, Lee of FL, Mark Adams of CA and Ralph Adams and wife, Kelly of Danville; an aunt, Susan Dinkle and husband, Chuck of MD; and six grandsons, Alan Adams, Brandon Adams and wife, Sabrina, Kaleb Hackett, Casey Hackett, Evan Adams and Alex Adams.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
