Gretna………David Willis Midkiff, age 73 of Gretna passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at his home with his son by his side. He was born June 10, 1953 to parents Howard Thomas Midkiff and Cecile Willis Midkiff. David was predeceased by a brother, Howard Thomas Midkiff; a niece, Lisa Tyler; a nephew, Howard Tyler; and a bother-in-law, Don Loring Tyler.

David worked at People's Mutual Telephone Company from his completion of college until his retirement. He was an avid train fan and enjoyed photographing steam engines and wildlife of all kinds. Talented in many areas, David could do anything from construction, plumbing, and electrical, to computers and even rebuilding cars.

He is survived by one son, David Thomas Midkiff and wife Kathryn; three grandchildren, Mary Alana Midkiff, Walker James Midkiff, and Julia Kathryn Midkiff; one sister, Dell Midkiff Tyler; and one nephew, Don. L. Tyler. He also had many great nieces and nephews.

Per his request there will be no services.
