Gretna…….David Nathaniel Lovelace, Jr. age 89 of Gretna died Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at his residence.

Born August 14, 1930 in Plainsboro, NJ, he was a son of the late David Nathaniel Lovelace, Sr. and Doherta Pickeral Lovelace.  He was predeceased by a son, Steven Ray Lovelace; two brothers, James Richard "Dick" Lovelace, Sr., and Randall Lovelace; and two sisters, Margie L. Doss, and Frances L. Tunkel.  Mr. Lovelace was a member of Summersett Baptist Church and he was a retired truck driver with the Lane Company.  He loved driving his truck, and his church family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jeannette Hunt Lovelace of the residence; two daughters, Debra Kaye Cope and husband, Douglas of Panama City, FL, and Connie Faye Dews and husband, Kenric of Hurt; one sister, Alice L. Brumfield of Altavista; four grandchildren, David Cope, Derek Cope & wife, Michelle, Alan Dews, and Katie Dews McCann & husband, Ed; and four great-grandchildren, Dexter Cope, Maddox Cope, Eleanor McCann and Lillian McCann.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2020 at Summersett Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Jason Andrews and Ronnie Simpson.
