Gretna…..Davey Lee Moore, Sr., age 77 of Gretna went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 29, 2016 at his residence.
Born September 22, 1939 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late David Crockett Moore and Missouri Bowen Moore. Mr. Moore was a former employee of VDOT. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and running dogs; and was a member of the Cedar Hill Hunt Club for years. Mr. Moore also enjoyed country music and watching westerns.
He is survived by his wife, Edith West Moore of the residence; three sons, Davey Lee Moore, Jr. of Chatham, Russell Moore and wife, Jennifer of Newport News, and Michael Moore of Chatham; one daughter, Vickie Lynn Conner and husband, Bobby of Chatham; one step-daughter, Tammy Smith of St. Louis, MO; one step-son Michael Smith of Roanoke; one brother, Les Moore and wife, Thelma of Hurt; two grandchildren, Michael Moore and Ryker Moore; special friends, Dennis and Robyn Tucker, Sarah Tucker, John Geyer, Tim and Jeanie Fisk, Rachel Crews, Jetta Morgan and all the Centra Hospice Staff.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Dennis Tucker. Burial will follow in Greenpond Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
