Altavista……….Dardinell (Nell) Kearney McIntyre, age 76 of 394 Riverbend Road, Altavista died Monday, June 9, 2014 at her residence.
Born October 28, 1937 in Franklin County, NC she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Kearney and Luna Ayscue Kearney. She was predeceased by a son, Michael McIntyre; four brothers, Stephen Kearney, Shem Kearney, Howard Kearney, and James Kearney; and one sister, Ellen Alford. Mrs. McIntyre was a member of Lane Memorial United Methodist Church and was a home maker. She was also a member of the Gem and Mineral Society of Roanoke and Lynchburg. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and sewing.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Harrill McIntyre of the residence; one son, Kenneth Wayne McIntyre of Altavista; two daughters, Phyllis M. Harris and husband, Glen of Hurt, and Nancy M. Witt and husband, Tim of Evington; one granddaughter, Jessica Hunter of Concord; and one great-grandson, Mason William Hunter.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Lane Memorial United Methodist Church by Rev. Alan Combs. Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
