Pittsville……….Danny Wilson Cook, age 80 of Pittsville died Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born April 23, 1944 in Danville, he was a son of the late Woodrow Wilson Cook and Viola Mayhew Cook. He was predeceased by a son, Stacy Cook; a granddaughter, Brandy Cook; and his beloved dog, Daisy. Mr. Cook attended Greenfield Baptist Church and was the owner/operator of D & W Excavation. Danny was a heavy equipment operator for 56 years; and he enjoyed watching wrestling and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Thompson Cook of the residence; one son, Warren Cook and wife, Virginia of Pittsville; one daughter, Amanda Sours and husband, Andy of Gretna; one brother, David Cook and wife, Frances of Gretna; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. R. G. Rowland. Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
