Gretna…..Danny Ray Byrd age 61 of 3321 Piney Road, Gretna died Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Chatham Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Born April 1, 1953 in Virginia he was a son of Ruby Towler Smith of Gretna and the late Jessie Calvin Byrd. Danny was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church and was an automobile mechanic. He enjoyed restoring old cars, fishing, and running.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Patty Byrd of the residence; three sons, Kevin Ray Byrd of Gretna, Tommy Dwayne Byrd of Gretna, and Jeremy Wade Byrd of Gretna: three brothers, Jessie Byrd and his wife, Becky of Gretna, Glenn Byrd of Gretna, and Ricky Byrd of Gretna; and two grandchildren, Kolby Edward Byrd and Jade Nicole Byrd.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at New Beginnings Baptist Church by Rev. Bobby Brumfield. Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
