Gretna……….Cynthia Gale Smith Doss, age 55 of 6300 West Gretna Road, Gretna died Monday, April 30, 2012 at her residence.
Born May 13, 1956 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of Hilda Adkins Smith of Gretna and the late Dennis Lee Smith. She was predeceased by a son Jonathan Doss. Mrs. Doss was a member of Piney Fork Baptist Church and was a home maker. She enjoyed flowers, sewing, and spending time with family.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband, Melvin Carroll Doss of the residence; two sons, Justin Doss and wife, Teresa of Lynchburg, and Matthew Doss and wife, Lindsay of Gretna; one brother, Jerry Smith of Gretna; three sisters, Debra Jamerson of Penhook, Jettie Farmer of Gretna and Phyllis Osborne of Chatham; two grandchildren, Nicholas Doss and Cayden Doss.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 4, 2012 at Piney Fork Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Roy Ford and Rev. Paul Woodward. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Church of the Brethren Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
