Cynthia Sater Scruggs, age 72, of Penhook, VA, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Bedford Hospice Home.

Mrs. Scruggs was born on August 2, 1953, in Danville, VA, a daughter of the late William Sater and Billie Blair Sater. She lived most of her life in Penhook and was a teacher with Pittsylvania County Public Schools for 33 years. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Scruggs is survived by her husband, David Scruggs.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Pamela Sater Scearce.

Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.
