Martinsville…..Craig Clayton Chandler, age 91 of Martinsville died Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Kings Grant Retirement Community in Martinsville.
Born September 22, 1926 in San Francisco, CA he was a son of the late Loren R. Chandler and Elva Beal Chandler. Mr. Chandler was predeceased by his wife, Peggy Chandler. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and a Forester for the U.S. Forest Service. Mr. Chandler enjoyed being outdoors, reading, animals and classical music.
He is survived by two sons, Bill Chandler and wife, Tina of Manassas Park and Bob Chandler and wife, Janet of Marion, IA; one daughter, Anne Fitzgerald and husband, Gus VanNorstrand of Syracuse, NY; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Chaplain Paul Johnson. Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232. Burial will be held at a later date at Quantico National Cemetery.
