Chatham….......Coy Hortense "Tense" Moore, age 77 of Chatham, died Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Gretna Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born October 3rd, 1945 in Pittsylvania County, VA she was the daughter of the late James Joshua Updike and Flossie Edwards Waller. She touched many lives in the almost 45 years that she was a bus driver for Pittsylvania County for handicapped and special needs children. She was a very giving person and loved her family with all her heart.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Moore of the residence; two children, Terri Moore Boswell of Chatham and Allen Moore (Monica) of Garner, NC, six grandchildren, Kasey Giles (Sam) of Chatham, William (Mindy) and Harry Boswell of Chatham and Ava, Claire and Caleb Moore of Garner, NC, three great-grandchildren, Lacey Mulero, Levi Boswell and Weston Giles all of Chatham. She is also survived by a very special sister-in-law Nancy Hunley of Chatham, numerous nieces and nephews and a beloved pet Boston Terrier "Eli".

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, James Douglas Updike, two half-brothers, Clifton and Lonnie Updike, a half-sister Veda Linkswilder and special friend Margaret Hodnett.
