Hurt……. Clyde Edward Queen, age 94 of Hurt, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2026.

Born August 20, 1932, in Surry County, NC, Clyde was the son of Raymond Holland Queen and Winnie Lewis Queen. He was a founding member and deacon of Motley Baptist Church. Clyde retired from Klopman Mills after 38 years of service. He was well known as an auctioneer working with Calvin Willard, Aaron Johnson, and Doug Dalton over the past several years. He enjoyed meeting and greeting everyone who attended the auction sales. Clyde was a proud Navy veteran who enjoyed telling his children and grandchildren stories of his travels.

He was preceded in death by a son, Clyde Queen, Jr., as well as his wife, Patsy Fitzgerald Queen, of 58 years. He is survived by his daughters, Martha Inman (husband, Dave) and Laurie Witt; one sister, Earline Thompson; and five grandchildren, Justin Martin (fiancée, Kayla), Rachel Klumpp (husband, Matt), Charley Inman, Sarah Beth Davis and Jeremiah Witt; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Memorial graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Gretna Burial Park by Rev. Dr. Jarrett Banks. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Funeral.
