Gretna…….Clara Jane George Osborne, age 85 of Gretna died Saturday, February 13, 2021 at her residence.

Born April 25, 1935 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Curtis Elmore George and Annie Simpson George.  She was predeceased by her husband, Archie Linwood Osborne; and a brother, Calvin George, Sr.  Mrs. Osborne was a member of Gretna Christian Church; and she was a retired school bus driver with Pittsylvania County Schools.  She enjoyed talking on the phone, cooking, shopping, softball, driving around, visiting family and friends, and taking pictures.

She is survived by one son, Lynn Osborne and wife, Jo Ann of Gretna; one daughter, Charlotte Craig and husband, Don of Bassett; one brother, J.W. George and wife, Betty of Java; five grandchildren, Chris Osborne and wife, Jolie, Jason Osborne, Timmy Craig, Tonya Hylton and husband, Timmy, and Chris Craig and wife, Amber; 14 great-grandchildren, Brayden, Chloe, Fallon, Callie, Blaine, Ryleigh, Brodie, Kyler, Collin, Alexis, Ashlynn, Aaliyah, Megan, and Mya; and one nephew, Calvin George, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Lee Ashley, Minister, and Chris Osborne.  Burial will follow in Greenbay Christian Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Gretna Christian Church, P.O. Box 644, Gretna, VA 24557.
