Clara Barker Elliott

Hurt……….Clara Barker Elliott, age 93 of Hurt died Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Autumn Care Nursing & Rehab.
Born December 29, 1919 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Clinton Scott Barker and Daisy Jacobs Barker. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd R. Elliott, a daughter, Betty E. Hunt and her husband, Henry; two sons, Lloyd Wayne Elliott, and Mack Elliott, two sisters, Lucy Barker and Nellie Shelton, four brothers, Kermit, Thelbert, Stuart and Hoover Barker. Mrs. Elliott was a member of Spring Road Baptist Church, was the valedictorian of the 1939 Class at Renan High School and was a home maker. She enjoyed traveling and sewing.
She is survived by two daughters, Peggy E. Dudley and husband, Bobby of Forest and Kitty E. Reynolds and husband, Henry of Hilton Head, SC; one brother, Harold Barker of Hurt; three sisters, Caroline Arthur of Coleman Falls, Janet Reynolds of Gretna and Flora Davis of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Pamela Barile of Lynchburg, Rhonda Sydnor of Lynchburg, Karen Bemis of Odenton,. MD and Suzanne Hunt Bitancor of Greensboro, NC; and three great-grandchildren, Courtney Barile-Campbell, Dudley Strosnider and Sydney Bitancor.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the Barker Family Cemetery by Rev. Brian Faison
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
