Claiborne (Rooster) Dalton

Gretna......Claiborne Lee (Rooster) Dalton, age 77, of 3833 Rockford School Road, Gretna died Friday, November 5, 2010 at Gretna Health & Rehab.
Born July 10, 1933 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late, Percy Gold Dalton,Sr. and Lannie Shields Dalton. Mr. Dalton was predeceased by a sister, Elsie Bosiger and two brothers, James Curtis Dalton and Emmett (Bully) Dalton, Sr. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Georges Creek Hunt Club and was a farmer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Bennett Dalton of the residence; one daughter, Debra Crews and husband, Clay of Hurt; one brother, P.G. Dalton, Jr. of Gretna; one sister, Lucille Crawley of South Hill; two grandchildren , Jessica Crews and Brandon Crews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 8, 2010 at Zion United Methodist Church by Rev. Harold Thornton. Burial will follow in the Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
