Chatham……….Christine Rigney Watson, age 90 of Chatham passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born February 21, 1935 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Sam Rigney and Essie Adkins Rigney.  She was predeceased by her husband, John William Watson, Sr.; one son, John W. Watson, Jr; one brother, Samuel Randolph Rigney; one sister, Lois Rigney Towler; and a son-in-law, Jeff Osborne.  Mrs. Watson was a member of Greenbay Christian Church and was a home maker.  She loved animals; and enjoyed flowers, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Donald Watson and wife, Donna of Chatham; four daughters, Wanda Osborne of Chatham, Connie Dalton and husband, Gerald of Gretna, Sheila Pippin and husband, Larry of Gretna and Karen Doss and husband, Michael of Gretna; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Greg Hedrick.  Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
