Statesville, NC…..Christine Davis Shelton, age 86 of Statesville, NC formerly of Gretna, died Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Brookdale East Broad Assisted Living in Statesville, NC.
Born January 31, 1931 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Abraham Lincoln Davis and Audrey Mayhew Davis. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Wade Shelton; three brothers, Herbert Davis, Vester Davis and Dan Davis; two sisters, Ann Mehaffey and Kathleen Crews. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Statesville, NC and was a home maker. She enjoyed puzzles, quilting, gardening and playing the piano.
She is survived by one daughter, Wendy Haizlip and husband Chris of Statesville, NC; one brother, Roy Davis of Matthews, NC; and one granddaughter, Danielle Haizlip of Albemarle, NC.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Gretna Burial Park by Pastor Chris Haizlip.
A memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church, 504 Whites Mill Road, Statesville, NC by Pastor Chris Haizlip.
