Altavista……….Christine Yeatts Elliott, age 94 died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Chatham Health & Rehab.
Born February 12, 1919 she was a daughter of the late, Robert Acuff Yeatts and Fannie Riddle Yeatts. She was predeceased by her husband, Oscar Leland Elliott and a daughter, Rebecca Elliott Brumfield. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and was a home maker. Mrs. Elliott enjoyed cooking and baby sitting.
She is survived by one son, James Elliott and wife, Gloria of Davenport, FL; three daughters, Mavis Holloway of Gretna, Doris Short and husband, Dick of Hurt, and Barbara Watson of South Hill; one brother, Robert Yeatts of Richmond and a sister, Mary Fulcher of Salem; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 25, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Bobby Brumfield. Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 P.M. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her daughter, Mavis Holloway, 816 Blue Ridge Drive, Gretna.
