Gretna.……Chase GuyAnn Arthur, age 24 of Gretna passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from complications from a medical procedure at VCU Medical Center of Richmond.

Born September 8, 2001 at Lynchburg, she was a daughter of Cherie Arthur of Gretna and the late Calvin Wayne Arthur.  She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Gerald Arthur; and a maternal great-grandfather, Guy "Bill" Tuck.  Chase had a great sense of humor.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three children, Calee Brumfield, Izabella Shelton and Madilynn Shelton; one sister, Chance Arthur and husband, Ryne Cook; maternal grandparents, Deborah and Bill Brumfield and Jack Williams; paternal grandmother, Susie and Tommy Reynolds; nieces and nephews, Paislee, Camden, Charlotte, Lucas, Kyndal and Jaelyn; best friends, Jenna Keller and Shiane Arthur; two uncles, Anthony Reynolds and Dwight Williams; and a great-aunt, Pam Harper.

Chase was one of a kind from the moment she was born. She didn't speak with a cry for almost two years. After that, she didn't stop crying. Later when she started talking, she didn't stop and she was loud. She definitely made sure she was heard throughout her too short of a life. Chase was tender-hearted, silly, fun-loving, full of laughter and spunk. She was the life of every family function. She either had us laughing or shaking our heads. Chase had us laughing even when didn't intend to, with her silly "Chasisms."

From the time she started playing softball at the age of 4, she displayed a natural talent. When she pitched for the very first time at the age of 8, she struck out the first three batters. Chased played travel softball for many years until she was 16 years old. Her years with Aftershock travel ball were the happiest of her short life.

Chase loved her babies, Calee, Izzy and Madi, so very much and they adored her. Chase loved her true friends, Shiane and Jenna, who stood by her over the years without judgement. Chase loved her family, and we love her more than words could ever express. She was our little tornado and the light of our lives. Her light dimmed way too soon. Chase will be missed every minute by those of us who loved her so, so very much.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. R.G. Rowland and Jordan Parker.  Burial will follow in the Arthur Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
