Gretna……Charlotte Dawson Hamlett, age 91 of Gretna died Monday, February 7, 2022 at Runk and Pratt Liberty Ridge in Lynchburg.

Born April 26, 1930 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late George W. Dawson and Velma Trent Dawson.  She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Barnard Hamlett; and a brother, Braxton Dawson.  Mrs. Hamlett was an active lifelong member and former treasurer of Anderson Memorial United Methodist Church.  She was a member of the United Methodist Women's group and she retired from banking.

She is survived by one daughter, Kim Hamlett-Berry and husband, David Berry of Washington D.C.; one brother, Clarence Dawson and wife, Gloria of Hurt; one sister, Dolly Tolson of Fairfax; and one granddaughter, India Elizabeth Berry.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 at Anderson Memorial United Methodist Church by Rev. Douglas Gunsalus.  Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family requires that everyone attending the service to wear a mask.
