Lynchburg…..Charlie Harris Waller, Jr., age 88, died Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Odd Fellows Home in Lynchburg, where he had made his residence for the past 4 ½ years.
Born September 25, 1924 in Rowan County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Charlie Harris Waller, Sr. and Daisy Clementine Misenheimer Waller. He was predeceased by 5 sisters and 3 brothers. Mr. Waller was a retired employee of Southern Air. He was a member of the motorcycle club "Retreads" and spent many enjoyable hours riding his Honda Gold Wing with the "Retreads".
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Dalphine Waller and his former wife, Eloise S. Waller, all of Altavista.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Gretna Burial Park by Dr. Jay Logan. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
