Charlie Brice Bowler

Gretna..........Charlie Brice Bowler, age 83 of 1632 East Gretna Road, Gretna died Thursday, June 10, 2010 at his residence.
Born March 17, 1927 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late William Tyler Bowler and Nannie Shelton Bowler. He was predeceased by a daughter, Debra (Dee) Head; and three brothers, Rubie Thornton Bowler, Ollie Coleman Bowler, and James Ellis Bowler. Mr. Bowler was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was a member and former Deacon of Greenfield Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer, and member of Cedars Country Club. Mr. Bowler retired from Burlington Industries, and enjoyed his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Rowland Bowler of the residence; two sons, David Bowler and his wife, Cindy of Gretna, and Jeff Bowler and his wife Melody of Chatham; a brother, William Floyd Bowler and his wife, Larrie of Gretna; four grandchildren, Jay Brown, Andrew Bowler, Brandi Cobb, and Nikki Bowler; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Greenfield Baptist Church by Rev. R.G. Rowland. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
