Gretna……..Charles "Chuck" Jefferson Risner, Sr., age 72 of Gretna died Thursday, May 27, 2021 at his residence.

Born June 7, 1948 in Portsmouth, Ohio he was a son of the late Conie Risner and Ocie Lawwill Sowards. He was predeceased by one son, Charles Risner, Jr.; one daughter, Rhonda Lynne Mullins; four brothers, Louis Van Hoose, Ronald Lawwill, Conway Risner and Timothy Risner; and five sisters, Barbara Risner, Sue Wilbur, Diane Pennington, Patricia Howard and Robin Miller. Mr. Risner was a member of Motley Baptist Church and retired from Iron Workers Local 769. He was a huge Cincinnati Reds fan and he had a big, warm, charming personality that everybody loved and a laugh that could fill up the room.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Marie Queener Risner of the residence, two sons, Phillip Dudley and wife, Anna of Evington and David Dudley and wife, Karen of Lincoln Park, MI; two daughters, Becky Risner Jenkins and wife, Shana of Bowling Green, OH and Marcia Godwin and husband, David of Brewster, OH; 17 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren that Charles and Janice raised, Arianna Layne, Trinity Layne and Alex Layne; and 1 great-grandchild on the way.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Mitch Etheridge. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace, Ohio will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
