Gretna..…..Charles Muriel "Charlie" Fry, Jr., age 78 of Gretna passed away Friday, May 22, 2020 at the Bedford Hospice House, Bedford, Virginia.

He was born June 29, 1941 in Chesterfield County Virginia to the late Charles Muriel Fry, Sr. and the late Edith Ayscue Fry. He was predeceased by his wife, Irene Barksdale Power Fry; a brother, Tommy Fry; and a step-daughter, Bonita Power Carleton.  He was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Mt. Airy, Virginia where he served as Lay Reader and Senior Warden.  A military veteran he served six years with the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War.  Charlie was a past employee of Tidewater Cycles and worked for over twenty years with the Virginia Department of Transportation.

He is survived by a brother, Dennis Fry of Texas and his family; two step-sons, Michael Power and his wife, Lorie of Texas and their family, and Raymond Christopher "Chris" Power and his wife, Nancy of Texas and their family; and the families of his predeceased brother and predeceased step-daughter.

Private graveside services will be conducted at Greenfield Cemetery by Rev. Helen McKee at a later date.
