Hurt……….Cecil Obreys Witt, Sr., age 71 of Hurt died Friday, June 12, 2015 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born January 1, 1944 in Evington he was a son of Myrtle Layne Witt of Bedford and the late Roy Thomas Witt. Mr. Witt was predeceased by a brother, Roy Witt. He was a former employee of Roy N. Ford Construction, Inc. Mr. Witt enjoyed fishing, hunting, making a garden and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother he is survived by two sons, Cecil Witt, Jr. of Hurt and Scotty Witt and his wife, Wanda of Hurt; two daughters, Brenda Sue Irwin and her husband, Arthur of Thomasville, NC and Cindy Witt of Hurt; three sisters, Mildred Witt of Lexington, NC, Rosa Adams of Bedford and Ruby Manley of Lexington, NC; his wife, Shirley Ann Witt; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2015 at New Beginnings Baptist Church by Rev. Bobby Brumfield. Burial will follow at the First Baptist Church of Evington Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his son and daughter-in-law, Scotty and Wanda Witt, 13980 Lot 3A, Rockford School Road, Hurt.
