Gretna………. Cecil Elwood Rowland, age 83 of Gretna died Monday, October 25, 2021.

Born November 14, 1937 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Elwood Thomas Rowland and Clara Dove Rowland.  Mr. Rowland was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church, and he retired from National Automatic Sprinkler Local 669 and was a member for 61 years.  He enjoyed hunting, and tending to his cows.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nancy Anderson Rowland of the residence; two sons, Michael Rowland (Kathy) of Chatham, and Steven Rowland (Yan Zhu) of Stafford; one brother, Darrell Rowland of Falls Church; three grandchildren, Michael Rowland, Elizabeth Rowland, and Mingchi Fan; and one great-grandchild, Noah Jaimes.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2021 at Greenfield Baptist Church by Rev. R.G. Rowland.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
