Gretna……….Cathleen Bennett Andrews, age 92 of Gretna died Sunday, April 18, 2021 at her residence.

Born March 29, 1929 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Garvin Curtis Bennett and Nannie Mae Farmer Bennett.  She was predeceased by her husband, James Oren Andrews; and a brother-in-law, Claiborne Dalton.  She was a home maker, worked at Craddock-Terry Shoe Factory in Gretna and retired from the cafeteria at Gretna Elementary School.  Mrs. Andrews was a member of Zion United Methodist Church; and she loved cooking, gardening, and embroidery.

She is survived by one son, Garvin Andrews and wife, Rhonda of Gretna; two daughters, Mae Belle Hogan and husband, Harry of Danville, and Dianne Meadows and husband, Tommy of Chatham; two brothers, James Bennett and wife, Madeline of Hurt, and Kermit Bennett and wife, Lena of Hurt; three sisters, Barbara Dalton of Gretna, Gerline Hughes and husband, Howard of Oklahoma City, OK, and Louise Johnson and husband, Mack of Gretna; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor David Edinger and Ramsey Taylor.  Burial will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
