Gretna……Catherine Meadows Shelton, age 86 of Gretna died Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.

Born August 23, 1935 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Berkley Ollie Meadows and Rena Shelton Meadows.  She was predeceased by one daughter, Kathy Moss Francis; her husband, Ramsey Shelton; one sister, Evelyn Walters; one brother, Ramsey Meadows; and one grandson, Joshua Shelton.  Catherine was a secretary; and she loved to cook, fish, work in the garden, and spend time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Carl Shelton and wife, Rhonda of Hurt, and Jay Shelton of Gretna; one daughter, Cheryl Conner of Gretna; one sister, Barbara Amos of Gretna; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. R.G. Rowland.
