Penhook………Catharine "Katy" Sand Sulzman age 79, of Penhook, died Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Born April 11, 1939 in Glens Falls, NY she was a daughter of the late, Karl Eugene Sand and Alice Sandford Sand. Mrs. Sulzman was a member of Christ Community Church and was a Registered Nurse. Katy was an artist, quilter and golfer. She was an Innkeeper with husband Robert on Cape Cod, Massachusetts and while here in Penhook she served as a Hospice care volunteer with Carilion Care Hospice in Rocky Mount.

She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Sulzman of the residence; two sons, Chris R. Sulzman and wife, Kristen of Townshend, VT and Edmund Chester Sulzman II and husband, Timothy Robert Walch of Sausalito, CA; one brother, Robert Sand of Gansevoort, NY; three grandchildren, Amy Lynn Lagares and husband, Mark, Christa Meghan Albright and husband, Troy, and Cori Knutsen; and one great-grandchild, Aviana Albright.

Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 at Christ Community Church by Pastor Derek Layman. A private graveside will be held at the church cemetery.

Following the memorial service a reception will be held at the Water's Edge Country Club.
