Chatham........Carter Wayne Mills, age 66, of 3884 Burton Lake Road, Chatham died Friday, July 16, 2010.
Born June 23, 1944 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late Percy William Mills and Nora Rowland Mills. He was predeceased by three brothers, Oscar Mills, Morris Mills and Sidney Mills. Mr. Mills enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, building and being around people. He was an Army veteran of Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jo Adkins of the residence; one brother, Carroll Mills of Chatham; and one sister, Ruby Meadows of Gretna.
Graveside services will be conduced 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 at Oak Ridge Christian Church Cemetery by Tim Maness, Minister. Burial with Military Honors by The Virginia National Guard Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 3884 Burton Lake Road, Gretna.
