Carrie Mae Mann East

Altavista…..Carrie Mae Mann East, age 87 of 1825 Wards Road, Altavista died Thursday. August 20, 2015 at her residence. Born October 27, 1927 in Pamplin, she was a daughter of the late, Myrt William Mann, Sr. and Marilla Flood Mann. She was predeceased by her husband, George Alvin East, a son Jeffrey Hogan and one brother, M.W. Mann, Jr. She was a member of Penuel Baptist Church and was a retired employee of General Electric. Mrs. East enjoyed crafts, crocheting, baking and decorating cakes and spending time and caring for her family.
She is survived by three sons, Robert East and wife, Linda of Altavista, Bruce East and wife, Pat of Rustburg and Pete Hogan and wife, Sonya of Marshall, TX; one daughter, Darnell Dillard and husband, Brent of Altavista; one brother, Richard Mann of Danville; one sister, Margaret Glover of Pamplin; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p,m, Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Penuel Baptist Church by Rev. Carlton Gunter and Rev. R.G. Rowland. Burial will follow in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
