Gretna………Carrie Ellen Jones Campbell, age 92 of Gretna passed away August 26,2026 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born June 20, 1934 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Maurice Whitfield Jones and Homie Mae Rowland Jones.  Carrie Ellen was a member of Greenfield  Baptist Church.  She was  pre-deceased by her brother, Ollie Randolph Jones.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Campbell of the residence, two daughters, Susan Hodges Gammon (Larry) of Gretna and Lisa Campbell Wood of Danville and one son, Jason Campbell of Gretna.  Five grandchildren, Michael Gammon (Paula), Jonathan Wood (Kimberly), Joshua Wood, Ethan Campbell and Carter Campbell, Daughter in law, Sheri Campbell, six great- grandchildren, Olivia, Myra, Jude, Raelyn, Leah and Luke, and a special nephew, Kim Jones.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. R.G. Rowland.  Burial will follow in Greenfield Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will at the residence, 597 Gopher Road, Gretna, VA
