Chatham……….Carolyn Taylor Jones, age 82 of Chatham died Sunday, April 13, 2025 at her residence.

Born July 21, 1942 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Irvin Otis Taylor Sr. and Margaret Dalton Taylor. She was predeceased by one brother, Irvin Otis Taylor Jr.; step-grandchildren, Ryan Compton; and a special friend, Carlos Vientos. Mrs. Jones was a member of Danville Bible Chapel and was a former secretary for Michael Turner Law. She enjoyed serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and spent her life trying to make others happy. Carolyn loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Richard Jones and wife, Sandy Compton of Chatham; two grandchildren, Joshua Jones and Matthew Jones; two great-grandchildren, Coby Brooks and Meagan Hall; three step-grandchildren, Robin King and husband, Michael, Roger Compton, Jr. and Randall Compton; seven step-great-grandchildren, Amber Epperson and husband, Joey, Michael King, Jr. Tyler King, John "Kane" Compton, Jaykob Compton, Rayana Compton and Chloe Compton; and four step-great-great-grandchildren, Weston Epperson, Reese Epperson, Whitlee Epperson and Jared Compton.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2025 at the Taylor Family Cemetery by Jonathon Brower.
