Hurt……….Carolyn Newman Falls, age 64 of Hurt died Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg.
Born June 19, 1946 in Bedford County, she was a daughter of Mattie Hackworth Newman of Lynch Station and the late Ollie Bennett Newman. She was predeceased by her husband, Willie Cundiff Falls, Jr., and a daughter, Dr. Lisa Ann Falls. Mrs. Falls was a member of Summersett Baptist Church and was a former employee of Burlington/ITG. She enjoyed reading, jewelry making, and gardening.
In addition to her mother she is survived by two brothers, Howard O. Newman, Sr. and his wife Susie of Lynch Station, and Johnnie Ray Newman and his wife Barbara of Lynch Station; a nephew, Howard Newman, Jr.; and other nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 11, 2011 at Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden by Rev. Billy Robertson.
The family would like to thank Centra Health Hospice, especially Suzanne Andrews, as well as the staff at Virginia Baptist Skill Care Unit.
